A Raisin in The Sun part 2
Through out the play Beneatha and Walter argue about money. Beneatha is dating a boy named George who has money. Therefore Walter wants her to marry him. In addition, Mama is waiting for a $10,000 check which each family member plans to use differently. Walter still plans to buy a liqour store, Beneatha wants to attend college and Ruth wants to save the money because she is pregnant again. None of the family members want Walter to buy a liqour store and this aggravates Walter. He reacts by repeatedly going out to drink. When the check finally arrives, Mama decides to buy a new house. The house is supposedly nice and only $3,500 but it is in a predominently white neighborhood called Clybourne Park.
